2. Protection of personal data
Comfy Chair takes the privacy of personal data very seriously. Personal data will therefore not be sold or provided to third parties. Data will only be processed for the purpose for which they are required and in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Telecommunications Act.
3. Data from visitors
When the customer has signed up for the email newsletter or has completed a contact form, the customer will be asked to provide some details. These may include:
Name
Telephone number
E-mail address
IP address
4. Purpose of storing visitors’ personal data
The data are collected and stored for the following purposes:
Name and e-mail address are used to send commercial newsletters and to create advertising target groups in Facebook.
Comfy Chair stores these data in Mailchimp and Facebook and will send the customer a one-time e-mail to request permission in order to comply with the GDPR. If permission is not granted, these data will be deleted at the end of each month. This is also stated on the relevant forms.
When the visitor has subscribed to the email newsletter and no longer wishes to receive emails, they may unsubscribe at any time by using the link at the bottom of the email or by contacting Comfy Chair. The email address will be immediately removed from the database and will not be stored.
Name, e-mail address and telephone number submitted via a contact form are used to prepare a quotation and/or to respond to the contact request.
Personal data received via contact forms will not be used for commercial purposes.
IP address
The visitor’s IP address is stored upon accepting the Cookie Policy, in order to display commercial advertisements via Google Adwords and Facebook. More information about the Cookie Policy can be found here.
5. Data from customers
Comfy Chair may use the data provided by the customer for the following purposes:
5a. Processing the order.
5b. Sending one or more emails related to the ordered product(s), such as, but not limited to, an email containing login details.
5c. (Occasionally) drawing attention to a product, tip, helpful information, etc., which Comfy Chair believes may contribute to a more successful website for the customer.
6. Data for processing the order
First and last name – To deliver the order to the correct person.
Address, postal code, city and country – For correct delivery of the order.
Telephone number – To provide last-minute information about the order, invoicing and/or delivery.
E-mail address – For each order, the customer will receive a confirmation, information on the status of the order, and an invoice by e-mail from Comfy Chair.
IP address – The customer’s IP address is stored when placing the order to detect misuse during payment.
7. Providing data to third parties
Data provided by the customer to Comfy Chair will never be passed on to third parties, except in two cases:
7a. When a court order has been issued to provide data.
7b. When registering a domain name, certain data must be passed on to the relevant registration authority. Examples of such authorities include (but are not limited to): SIDN (for .nl domain names), RealTimeRegister (RTR), EURid (for .eu domain names), and DNS.be (for .be domain names).
8. Rights
8a. Right to access customer data
The customer has the right and the opportunity at all times to view the data provided. Comfy Chair may, in such a case, request that the change be communicated in a manner prescribed by Comfy Chair, and in some cases proof of identity may be required.
8b. Right to amend customer data
The customer has the right and the opportunity at all times to amend the data provided. Comfy Chair may request that the change be communicated in a manner prescribed by Comfy Chair, and in some cases proof of identity may be required.
8c. Right to withdraw or restrict processing of customer data
The customer has the right and the opportunity at all times to restrict the processing of or to delete the provided personal data. The customer also has the right and the opportunity to request the transfer of personal data. Comfy Chair may request that the change be communicated in a manner prescribed by Comfy Chair, and in some cases proof of identity may be required. Comfy Chair will process the request within 4 weeks. Requests can be sent to us by e-mail at info@comfychair.nl.
9. Retention period
Comfy Chair does not store the data longer than necessary for the purpose for which they were received. Data in the accounting and CRM systems are kept for at least 7 years, among other reasons to comply with all legal obligations. These data will be deleted by Comfy Chair within 1 year after the expiry of this obligation. The above period applies unless there are further legal obligations for Comfy Chair to retain the data longer and/or keep them available.
10. Security
Personal data stored in the email system are processed through the servers of Mailchimp, which are located in the United States. Therefore, personal data of email subscribers may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. The transfer of these data is based on the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework. The data provided by the customer to Comfy Chair are stored in a secure environment. Comfy Chair has taken appropriate technical measures to protect personal data against loss or other forms of unlawful processing. These measures, including encryption via an SSL certificate, provide a level of security appropriate to the data Comfy Chair processes.
11. Changes
Comfy Chair reserves the right to amend the privacy policy at any time.
